team voyage presents our 2019-2020 teams

Robotics is an elective class offered at Bayou View Middle and Central Middle for the 2019-2020 school year. We currently have 79 students consisting of 19 teams competing in VEX Robotics. We also have 8 students competing in First Tech Challenge.

Students will benefit by vastly improving their science, technology, engineering, and math skills. Team Voyage incorporates both community service and educational outreach and will work diligently to reach out to every student possible in explaining the various features of a successful robotics team. Through involvement in a robotics team, students can learn to solve real-world problems related to science and engineering. Our students of Team Voyage also incorporate the practical use of math and physics to become confident in abstract thinking, teamwork, and project management.

•          Students will always show respect and attention to the teacher and fellow students when speaking.  Only positive comments will be allowed. 
•          Students will be expected to work well together with other classmates during group activities.  This component is critical in learning effective communication skills in interpersonal relationships and successful team work.
•          Students will construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others with regard to the subject of robotics.
•          Students will maintain a 3.2 GPA.
•          Students will be expected to participate in fundraising for the team.  Any student that does not participate in fund raising will not be allowed to travel with the team to competitions.
•          Students will be expected to be outstanding members of their community.
•          Students will be required to do a minimum of 10 hours of documented community service per year.
